About the Association
The Association of Burkinabe in Nebraska is a non-profit organization in Nebraska. Committed to upholding the core values of the Burkinabe community, we aim to combat social injustice wherever it may occur. Keeping the welfare of our comrades in Burkina Faso close to our hearts, we endeavor to raise money, awareness, and hope for the Burkinabe people who are suffering.
Our Objectives
The primary mission of the Association of Burkinabe in Nebraska is to improve the welfare of all people, placing a special emphasis upon the needs of our members from Burkina Faso. Dedicated to combatting injustice, we focus on promoting the social well-being of individuals, communities, and society. We aim to create a wholesome environment that nurtures the integrity of Burkina Faso, and reflects the principles upon which our organization stands. Every member of our group is a proud representative of the mother country, both in the United States and in the world, and as a part of our organization will continue to develop, grow, and contribute to the global community.
We strive to end the social injustices that cultivate discrimination, lack of education, oppression, and poverty. In addition to helping the individuals who join us to meet their own needs, we aim to use the core values that bind us together to better the world we live in:

Integrity
As Burkinabes, we must behave in the trustworthy manner that has characterized our countrymen for many generations. It is imperative that we uphold our ancestors' name and dignity. Integrity is the universal value upon which we base ourselves, our society, and our interactions with others. Integrity is what makes our works honorable.
Service
We vow to serve each other, our communities, our country, and the world with dedication and determination. Through our community service efforts, we will aid the population of Nebraska and those who are in need.
Education
We believe that education is the key to solving many social injustices, and we vow to educate our communities, our country, the world, and ourselves. We will gain and share information with each other in a spirit of constructiveness, and learn from the diversity of culture that makes up Nebraska.
Respect of the Person
We believe that all human beings are born free and equal in rights and dignity, are endowed with reason and conscience, and should act towards each other in a spirit of brotherhood.
We support each other’s ideas and endeavors, we listen and deal respectfully with one another, and we treat everyone we meet as if they were a member of our own community.
Importance of Human Relationships
We believe that humans are social beings and that society can only reach its highest potential with improved human relations. We vow to maintain healthy relations with one another, with our communities, with our country, and with the world.
As representatives of our country, we strive to create and improve relations both individually and as a community. We hope to ultimately create a friendly environment that naturally promotes unity amongst ourselves and all people.
Excellence
We understand that in order to continuously improve as human beings, we must strive for perfection. We vow to reach for excellence in all aspects of life. "Whatever you do, do it well."
Discipline
We recognize that order and discipline are important to any effective organization. We vow to submit ourselves to the rules, to embrace constructive criticisms, and to hold each other accountable for our actions.
